Hungarian Gerbeaud Cake
Gerbeaud Cake (Zserbó) is a traditional Hungarian cake that was created in the 19th century at the famous Cafe Gerbeaud. The cake is named after Emil Gerbeaud, a Swiss confectioner, who invented this unique cake. They are traditionally served at Christmas and Easter but can be find at patisseries in Hungary all year long.
Gerbeaud slices are a unique and lovely blend of flavors and colors! Each bite will enchant your taste buds. The delicious concoction features a sweet yeast cake layered with tangy apricot preserves and crunchy walnuts. The topping is a gorgeous, shiny dark chocolate glaze. Each slice is beautifully garnished with walnuts, gold dust and gold leaf.
